Arsenal 2 - 0 Ac Milan
God bless everything today! Though i may be suffering from flu, sore throat, cough, and everything painful and such, the win is like the perfect remedy to everything. I woke up at 4 am to watch, sizzling throat and all, and was not disappointed. Uh huh, no disappointment at all. My only regret is that i cant parade my Arsenal jersey in school today, i swear i'm gonna do it tmr....
Its f*cking brilliant!(To use some english accent) Arsenal played like real contenders today and the spirit and character in the team (yes the one wenger was ALWAYS talking about) was evident throughout the entire match. The win was utterly sweet which was amplified by the fact the gunners had been on a winless streak for the last 4 games.
Other than the few early scares by the home side, i found the match tilted, most of the time, to Arsenal. We were superior in terms of both possession and passing and was unlucky for Fabregas to hit the post in the 1st half. Going into the second half, Arsenal just picked off from where they were and continued to pressure the Italian side. It was obvious the home fans were frustrated by Arsenal's hogging of the ball and i believe most of them could feel that the worst was yet to come. But the Italian defence is renowned for their sturdiness and you need more possession to split it open like a nut. Someone had to provide that impetus.
THEN, out of the blue, it came.
Cesc took the ball and side stepped Gattuso almost effortlessly with a surge of pace and when it looked like 'all-so-predictable-cesc' to pass the ball, he unleashed an ultimate heat seeking rocket to the bottom corner(which was sizzling hot and was emanating heat). Amazing stuff. If it was not the wee hours of the morning(and my throat), i would have made sure that entire sengkang heard me scream. The second goal came after flamster started a counter attack and released speedy theo. Old legs vs brand-new-smacking-fresh legs. It is obvious who is gonna be faster. Theo went to the byline, cut in a perfect pass and ade capped of the historic night with his 1st ever UCL goal at the San Siro. What else can be better for the Arsenal fans?
Oooo i'm still feeling the hangover of the victory. Though i know all my euphoria could be short-lived if i do not start mugging my econs. But surely, on a rare occasion like this, all sins should be pardoned. Today is a proud day for all the true gooners and for that, a toast to everyone!
Italian job - checked!
