its flaming hot in here!

The Heat Is On!

Ok, enough of the usual corny 'sports biggest showdown' taglines, today's topic will be on the A levels.

Qn 1: To what extent do A levels screw a perfectly normal teenager's life? Discuss using relevant educational concepts. [25]

Qn 2: a) Describe and explain ways you can study for your A levels and still flunk it. [10]
b) In specific context for econs and chem, how would you go about trying not to flunk it even though the odds are stacked against you. To what extent will your measures work? [15]

Qn 3: 'Thousands of candidates have taken the A levels in the past 10 years. Ten-year-series have subsequently been modified on a yearly basis'.
State and evaluate the effectiveness of TYS on a typical A levels candidate. What other measures can he/she undertake to ensure her distinction?

End

Ok, this is those kind of econs paper when you turn around and you swear under your breath, only to realise u swore too loudly and you can feel glares around you and the chief examiner giving you the infamous 'stare of death'.

Ok, i am not a hater of A levels here, i do believe it has some of its uses and its probably a must for every singaporean student, a milestone to say the least. I am merely channeling my stress and nerves into words so i can feel relatively stress free and enjoy a good night rest even though i barely scraped through my econs notes.

Which is thicker than my own blood i think. Talk about blood and sweat.

and oh, did i mention arsenal youth triumphed over liverpool reserves/cheaters (they subbed in some 20m dude aquarium guy and the jew). Well done young gunners, take comfort in the fact that most of you dont even take the GCE A levels or dont score good grade even though the cambridge centre is so close to you.

Shame on you.

Great, blabbering nonsense is the number one best way to destress you know? Yea, some fun facts FYI.

Alright, i think, blog, i am gonna turn in for the night. I need sufficient rest to restart the battle once more tmr. Its a long battle.

But i believe i will win.

Yes.

P.S. the FYI was fake

ready steady....

sound the horn.

Ok mousehunt is for geeks period. i mean, how intellectual can a game based on clicking a horn every 15 min be?

Oh wait, i caught a brown mouse. Again. tmd. Anyway, i caught a mole mouse the other day and also a diamond mouse just now, so maybe later..

Wad the hell? its the exam stress. Its making your usual blogger go coo-coo. I am actually at question 5 of some chem paper and i couldnt resist typing a few words here. It has something to do with the inspiration or drive or smth. wadeva.

Oh yea, saw a new quote today. 'He who runs last runs best'. Some great dude invented it. That dude plays mousehunt and just caught a brown mouse 34 secs ago. No idea how he came up with that, but its gonna do with a certain quan^2 being pwned by his phy teacher. Once again. and it goes on and on and on and on.

Until the BLOODY As™ that is. oooo the As are brimming me with excitement now.

Sorry i meant to type 'not'.

In other news, liverpool and arsenal tmr at the carling cup. I am not expecting much, just a repeat of the 6-3 score line the other time a couple of years back will suffice. smacking.

Well blog, you do realise i cant linger here forever, theres a question 5 waiting for me and is there a question 6? *flips paper* Damn! there is a question 6. Who's cruel idea was it to set an additional question behind question 5 when it is supposed to be the final and ultimate question, the mother of all killerquestions?

It doesnt make sense, this is atrocious and ridiculous and such action by the chem dept of the whichever school should not be condone!

Oh wait a min, f***, all paper 2s have 6 questions. FML.

I need a relaxative =)

To the cutest of cutes

howdy, have you guys seen a wave before? You know, the ones with troughs and crests? ok whatever, its been almost like that for the past week, no thanks to hormones and A levels.

But theres someone i want u to meet, dear blog. Its none other than DD! Yes, the elusive and mysterious DD has been the main character in my life and most of my crests stem from her/him/it. =) Oh i love mind-effing people, blog.

DD is so amazing and is so wonderfully beautiful! In fact he/she/it is like the next best thing to ramly burger or sliced bread or the teriyaki upsized bowl or... you get the drift. In fact, i've just seen DD a few hours ago and i miss DD alr! =)

(At this juncture, if any of you readers still think DD is a 'it', my heart goes out to you...)

Now theres A levels and they are the suck. But as E once said 'i study superposition so that i do not have to study it in the future', theres really no way out but forward. Everyone's in the mood, and when the going gets tough, the true great ones stay in their closets. With notes.

I am determined to do well, just like DD, who will do fantastically well in the end. Life's certainly not a bed of roses and hmm, i do adore a certain scent of a rose perfume at times... Perhaps roses makes people happy, and that enables people to study hard, harder, hardest and eventually trump the Bloody As™. Well as they said, roses are red and violet is the color of the light with the wavelength 300 nm, study is an imperative.

Oh yes, i am due to serve the nation with effect from January 4th. I will miss you blog, but you will be down the pecking order though. DD will rank co-first, probably with my family (aww <3 <3) and as much i fear that DD will shed tears when i book into the 7-wks chalet, i hope he/she/it will be there. awww. awww. awww. hearts hearts.

Alright, make a stand, readers. The million dollar question remains:
'Who is DD?' or rather 'What is DD?'

No clues allowed but DD ranks amongst family and arsenal.

The answer is for me to know and for you to find out.

And no, the answer is not at the back of the booklet. k thx bye.

P.S. I still miss DD =(

its better late than never

hey earthlings, pretty nice sunday eh? with nothing really going on....

that is, if you discount the loads of maths and phy and chem paper on my desk. And i'm not even heading towards econs yet.

But its a happy and beautiful sunday, perfect for lazing around and enjoying the rare slow pace of life for a while before being ruthlessly dumped back into the crazy fast-moving system. I have this gut feeling my happiness stems from arsenal winning the previous night and feeling loved by the people i love. awww.

Arsenal was below their best last night, and with that i mean we didnt hit 29283 goals past another team. I exaggerate, but i guess arsenal has spoiled me too much in their previous home games with what? 12 goals in 3 games or smth. Birmingham, yes the team with that shitface martin taylor, was back to their physical and 'bullying' ways yet for me, they were terribly outclassed. Van the Man just showed another of his jazziest moves once again and he pranced around the box (with the ball in control! omg!) like a ballet dancer and smashed it home. If he wasnt a soccer player, he would make a fine ballet dancer, mark my word.

Before long, it was 2-0 arsenal. Rosicky cut back and diaby had the 20 minutes to plan out how the ball should fly, at what speed it must hit the net and how extravagant his celebration should be before lashing the ball into the the back of the net. Very tidy stuff.

Then we had one of those goalkeeping calamity, which seems to be haunting us for a long time, as vito flapped at a ball and allowed those bullies back into the game. We were never in much danger though (apart from a crucial block by vito to make amends) and Arsh clinched the game with a sweet strike, following a counter.

SO with chelsea defeated by 2 set plays and liverpool by a beach ball. We find ourselves in a position that should we win out game in hand, we would go second, albeit through goal difference and one point adrift of manutd. Its certainly mouthwatering stuff.

In other news, As are arriving. gulps. I really should go and study like...

Now.

=), i miss DD

why dont you come to your senses?

It may be raining but theres a rainbow above you.

i had a bout of severe stress and intense fear and worry about the imminent A's and the work i've have done these past days, or rather the lack of it.

Its fine now, you better let somebody love you before its too late.

So damn late

as we go on and on and on

Alrighty then, farewell assembly's done and dusted.

Its probably not the best time to look back at everything now and regret/rejoice. As in, well, the Bloody As™ are approaching and we really gotta pull our cocks, no, socks up and make sure theres no room for regrets.

Then again, theres never a real best time for anything. Its all about the flow, the 'chi', the natural progression or smth.

Its around 30 days (plus minus) before Bloody As™ actually arrive. Theres gonna be the usual sense of anticipation, that tinge of fear, that all-positive mentality that everything's gonna be alright, the most-hated panic attacks and after the Bloody As™, theres gonna be of course, the crazy celebrations which are the best things ever created since sliced bread.

You'll be a real fool if you dont study now, mr lim. All your talk and dreams would just go down the drain just like that. Holey.

I am actually making myself scared and fearful and thats not an entirely clever thing to do. I must improve my studies, somehow.

Ohhhh its time to plunge into the deep end once again.

P.S. Blogger's block recovered. Minor ailment.

oh damn

hi blog, i've just hit a barren spell.

Its the time of the month once again. Yes, the feared-by-all blogger's block. Usually i need a healthy dosage of pure arsenal to get me going, but sadly, we dont see arsenal playing until later tonight.

In any case, here's to 3 points. and many many more 3 pts.

Just in case you are forever dropping by to see what i have to say.... hahahhaa

Anw, got back my prelims results and its not rlly very shiny or spectacular or cescular. Its pretty average i guess and of course, no time to dwell on such stuff, i have the Bloody As™ to handle in like 38 days time.

Oh yea, i've been peeling skin since last wk due to my sunburnt. Its god damn itchy.

=)

Stop smiling to yourself! =)
